The Location:

We are currently recruiting for someone to join us as the Bars and Services Manager at our wonderful ‘Maison Dieu’ venue situated in Dover. This building is steeped in history with the earliest parts of the building dating back to 1203! The building includes a disused Victorian gaol, two large halls, a disused court room, Council Chamber, and civic offices, as well as meeting rooms, kitchens and numerous ancillary spaces. It is an interesting beautiful and truly unique place to work.

The Post:

The Bars and Services Manager will be responsible for managing and running all events and functions at Dover Town Hall. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of all services through the services team. The type of events held range from conferences, presentations and shows to large scale banqueting and weddings. The post holder will also be responsible for assisting the Dover Town Hall Manager with all compliance related activities including Health and Safety Matters and employee training and inductions. Hours of work will include evenings and weekends and will require some flexibility to work more hours during busy periods such as the Christmas season. The job holder will also be required to support and work at other Your Leisure venues as and when required. This will include Margate Winter Gardens and Aylesham Welfare Leisure Centre.

The Successful Candidate:

Applicants must have at least 2 years’ operational experience gained within a busy, high standard food and beverage environment. They will be able to demonstrate extensive bar and catering management experience, excellent customer service skills, team leadership and effective communication skills. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of health, safety and food hygiene (ideally qualified in support of these requirements) and must have full driving license as they will be required to work at other sites (including Thanet and potentially Aylesham) as and when required. The ideal candidate will be available for an immediate start where possible. Previous applicants need not re-apply.
