Thanks to the support of Kent County Council and Social Enterprise Kent, Your Leisure is pleased to introduce a wide range of exciting Wellbeing activities and courses specially created for those aged 55 and over.







Wellbeing Activity Programme
Our Wellbeing Activity Programme is open to members and non-members to book online, via the Live Better app or in-centre kiosks. Click below to learn more about each or our Activities and book today!

A gentle, (chair-based) accessible class designed to ease stiffness, improve mobility, and build strength with supportive movement and breathwork. Perfect for those managing arthritis or chronic aches.

A calming mat and chair- based class focused on reducing stress and improving emotional well-being through mindful movement, breath work , and relaxation techniques.

A slow-paced, supportive practice to improve flexibility, balance, and strength while moving with ease and awareness. Ideal for those looking for a steady, grounding yoga practice. Suitable for beginners.
Ramsgate Leisure Centre

A deeply relaxing class using longer held, supported postures to release tension, improve circulation, and restore energy levels. Great for relaxation and overall well-being. Suitable for beginners.

A dynamic yet low-impact workout on water to build fitness, strength and balance using a pool balance board. (30minutes) A total body workout for multiple muscle groups creating a comprehensive, all round workout with the instability of the water enabling core muscles and enhancing strength and stability.

Find your zen place with FloatFit Balance, a refreshing workout and effective way to achieve your fitness goals using a pool balance board. Navigating the floating mat sharpens your balance and coordination skills making it an ideal workout for all ages and fitness levels. The gentle movements and stretches promote increased flexibility as well as improving range of motion. Regular practice can help correct posture and alleviates back pain and enhances mental well-being. Suitable for beginners as well as all fitness levels.

A gentle seated chair class utilising balls and bands for low impact resistance to assist with day to day functional movements. Great for muscle pain and injury recovery alongside protecting bones and assisting with joints by improving muscle flexibility and aiding muscle rehabilitation.

A low to medium intensity class, that mixes body conditioning and resistance training with aerobic conditioning. The aim of the class is to maintain and improve both strength and muscular endurance as well as improving cardiovascular health to assist with every day activities and improve overall health. A great all-round class set in a fun and social environment.

Stretch & Tone is a low impact, low intensity workout that will tone your muscles, increase your range of motion and flexibility, and help you to relieve stress. Stretching your muscles will increase your flexibility which will improve your overall wellbeing and physical activities and decrease your risk of injuries.

Boxfit is a cardio workout based on boxing techniques using gloves and pad work. Suitable for all levels, this non-contact workout will see you improve your agility, strength and overall fitness. A great stress buster.
Ramsgate Leisure Centre

Dance and social class for older adults who want to start dancing and moving for improved health and wellbeing. This fun class will include various dance styles and movement to music, as well as providing an opportunity to meet new people. Suitable for beginners.

This class offers a comprehensive approach to physical wellness by combining exercises that enhance flexibility, build strength, and improve balance. Balance training involves doing exercises that strengthen the muscles that help keep you upright, including your legs and core and will include work on the floor. These kinds of exercises can improve stability and help prevent falls.

‘Legs, Bums & Tums’ (LBT) is a classic! It is an aerobic cardio class, despite the structure being aerobic, LBT focuses on strength training, building strength, while increasing your energy levels and flexibility/mobility. Try this great workout for burning calories.

‘Aero, Stretch & Tone (gentle)’ is a fun low-impact class first consisting of an aerobic warm up to get you going. This is a full-body workout to improve flexibility, stability, and core strength. It will also boost your overall mental wellbeing.

Good Boost is a water-based rehabilitation programme designed to be fun and beneficial for people with a range of musculoskeletal conditions. This includes tablet computers and artificial intelligence to give you a personalised aqua workout that is specifically designed to help with your MSK condition and improve your mobility, balance and fitness.

It's never too late to learn to swim and enjoy all the associated health benefits of swimming. Open up your world of aquatic enjoyment with our Over 55’s beginner classes. Classes are led by one of our professional, qualified swim teachers who will be in the pool with you and guide you from being a nervous non-swimmer to enabling you to explore the water with confidence. Sessions are held within our training pool with progression at the right time for you to the larger main pool.

Nordic Walking is a fun and social activity that uses specially designed poles to work your upper body and legs. It can burn more calories, improve fitness, reduce joint strain and tone muscles compared to normal walking.

Easy to pick up and a great way to exercise, pickleball is fast becoming one of the most popular racket sports in the world. It's a fun, low-impact, social sport. It is played on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net, where players use paddles to hit a plastic ball between them.

Walking Netball is a modified version of netball for women of all ages and fitness levels. It offers health benefits, fun, laughter and social interaction for netball lovers and beginners.

Explore ukulele sounds and improve your playing techniques with our over 55s Ukulele Intermediate course. This fun and social course is ideal for those with some experience but our wonderful teacher can help beginners get started and jam along.

How we've helped people improve their wellbeing


I started with a seated Yoga course for 8 weeks. I met lots of new people so returned for the next course. My health improved so I was able to start going to the FeelGood Factory.

FAQs & Booking Information
All our Wellbeing Activities and Courses can be booked online here, via the Live Better app or the kiosks in the centres.
If you take out a FREE Wellbeing membership, you can book 8 days in advance. Non-members can book 5 days in advance. Other Your Leisure members can book 8 or 14 days in advance based on their booking perk.
Activities can be booked for individual sessions.
Course are booked in a block as one booking. For example, a 5-week course will be one booking that will cover access for all 5 sessions. Once a course starts (it's start date) it will not be on the system or bookable until the current course block of 5-8 weeks has run then it will become bookable again.
The Live Better app is the easiest way to view all activity programmes, and manage bookings on the go. You will need an account to get started. You can either cerate an account when you book your first activity online here or when you sign up for a membership. There is a FREE Wellbeing membership available which will give you the 8 days advanced booking perk. You can find that membership online here
Download the app today. Easily check all timetables and programmes. Book on the go. Manage your bookings. Stay up-to-date with member news & offers. The FIRST time using the Live Better app, you will need to log in using your registered email address and password you set on your online account. If you have not done this already, you can CLICK HERE to reset your password. You will enter your email address and receive an email with a link (link is live for 10 minutes) to set up a password. Once you have done this, you can login to the app.
NB: Please ensure when re-setting or entering your password that there are no capital letters used or an extra spaces at the end of your email address as the system is case sensitive and you may find the following error message "invalid email".
All activity sessions and courses are non-refundable or transferrable.
Courses are paid in week blocks in advance. A booking entitles you to attend all sessions of that course within the defined start and end dates. No credit can be issued for missed sessions unless Your Leisure is responsible for not delivering the session.
To meet the objective of our funding agreement with Kent County Council and Social Enterprise Kent, we will issue customers with a short questionnaire to get feedback on your experience. All questionnaire responses go to Social Enterprise Kent and you can read the privacy agreement that covers them via the link in the questionnaire invite email.
Your Leisure is delivering wellbeing activities suitable for those over 55 in partnership with Social Enterprise Kent and Kent County Council. These subsidised activity courses have been made possible through Kent County Council’s community-based wellbeing services fund. We are proud to be a delivery partner for this service, which Social Enterprise Kent is leading throughout Thanet and the South Kent Coast.
