Since turning 30, Deal Indoor Tennis Centre Head Coach Toby Churchill has started to compete on the ITF: International Tennis Federation World Tennis Masters Tour. This is a World Series of tournaments specifically for senior players and Toby had found immediate success in the Over 30s category.
Toby's first tournament in the seniors was The British Open Masters Clay Court Championships this May. Toby won the event in Bournemouth, beating the world number 9 in the final.
Then it was on to Wimbledon for the British Masters Grass Court Championships where he lost in the quarter-finals to the world number 1, 6-4 6-4.
And lastly, there was the British Open in Eastbourne where Toby found more success winning both the Men’s Singles and Doubles events. He currently sits at 15 in the world rankings and is British number 1. He aims to break into the top 10 in the world rankings and is hoping to be selected to represent Great Britain in the World Championships next year.
