Your Leisure's Managing Director, Kevin Fordham, donned gardening clothes and welly boots, to volunteer at the Bechange Community Hub, Community Garden in Aylesham last week. Kevin helped other volunteers and staff work in the garden that is being transformed as part of the ASPIRE project, which Your Leisure is a lead partner on.
The ASPIRE project is developing ways to tackle the relationship between long-term unemployed and obesity. The garden will offer a combination of opportunities for people to improve their physical and mental wellbeing while gaining skills to enhance their CV. Kevin took up this opportunity to volunteer through the recent introduction of Your Leisure's Employee Volunteering Leave Policy, this policy gives employees the opportunity to become involved in volunteering projects and take an active part in the local community.
